Frequently Asked Questions

Difference between Light-Curing and Self-Curing:
Q: What is the difference between your White SCA Repair Kit and your PRO White LCA repair kit?
A: Our SCA Repair Kit is a 2-part (base and catalyst) material which is best used in cracks, breaks and deeper chips where light cannot penetrate to cure the material. Also, the SCA is more of a structural adhesive material, so will bond two pieces together securely. Our Light-Cure repair material utilizes light to cure/dry and is best on surface damage (chip, nick, pit) where light can penetrate to cure it and you want the absolute quickest repair possible. On deeper chips and surface damages, it must be applied and cured in shallow layers to ensure the light is able to completely activate the curing properties. Both SCA and LCA have the same properties of durability, non-toxicity, high-gloss capability and resistance to UV light, water and household chemicals

Granite Repair:
Q: I have a chip in my Uba Tuba Granite counter top. I don't have the chip. Will your product fill the chip? How noticable will the repair be?
A: You will be very pleased to know that you can use the Clear Repair Kit to either seal a chip back in it's rightful home OR fill a missing chip. Not only will either repair be nearly undetectable, but it's permanant. Marble Repair:
Q: I have a marble oval table that I accidently chipped on the edge. Is it possible to fix this chip since it is located on the edge of the table?
A: Yes, and we recommend that you fill the chipped edge as soon as possible to avoid further damage. Because of ther ProCaliber in your kit, the strength of your repair is permanant. You can finish the edge with the included fine grain finishing papers and polish for a superior, smooth edge. Let us know how satisfied you are with the results, and if you have any questions when you are ready to do your repair.

Marble Repair:
Q: I have followed all the instructions on the insert, but the repair pops out when I have completed the sanding - what do I do?
A: There is not a problem with the repair process or material. The most likely cause is the damaged area was not sufficiently dried after cleaning or before applying the repair material. We recommend only utilizing acetone or alcohol to clean the damaged area as they dry more completely and quickly than most any other cleaning agent or water. One solution is to simply take a hair dryer and turn on to high heat and apply to area for at least 2-3 minutes.
A: Another potential issue is the damaged area has not been roughed a bit to help with the adhesion or has not been cleaned out fully of dust and debri prior to applying the repair material. We recommend using the supplied sandpaper to lightly rough up the damaged chip or nick and then cleaning the dust/debri fully with acetone or alcohol and let dry sufficiently before applying the repair material.
